Intelligence tells you that the Japanese military are counting on you not stomaching the casualties amongst your troops if you invade. They expect that you will not be able to press for unconditional surrender and that they will be able to hold onto some of their conquests. If you do not defeat them, they will consider this a victory.


You wait for the planners forecast for the invasion of Japan. You authorise the research to keep going. You don't have to use the bomb.
